Cheney Saddled Democrats With ‘Toxic’ Trait After Turning On Trump, Party

During a Fox News segment, Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist, criticized President Joe Biden’s decision to award former Rep. Liz Cheney the Medal of Freedom. Hemingway argued that Cheney’s actions, including alleged criminal activities while co-chairing the partisan January 6 Committee, made the award inappropriate. She accused Cheney of witness tampering and obstructing justice,

notably hiding evidence that exonerated former President Trump. Hemingway claimed Cheney’s “toxic” neoconservative views, including support for military intervention, had shifted from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party, a move that benefited Republicans by removing her influence. Host Maria Bartiromo also noted the hypocrisy of awarding the medal to figures like Hillary Clinton and George Soros. The White House defended Cheney, highlighting her two decades of public service and her role in defending American ideals.
