In 2015, four Calgary teens—Arnaud Nimenya, Carsyn Wright, James Hielema,and Starlyn Rives-Perez—witnessed a man carrying a distressed girl at Chinook Mall.
Trusting their instincts, they followed him and discovered him assaulting the girlin a stairwell. The teens intervened, restraining the man until police arrived.Their brave actions led to the man’s arrest. In 2016, they were honoredat the Calgary Police Chief’s Awards Gala for their courage
