Paul Alexander, 78, of Dallas, passed away on March 11. Known as “polio Paul,” he was paralyzed by polio at age six and lived in an iron lung for most of his life. Despite this, he earned degrees in economics and law, passed the bar,
and practiced law. In 2024, he was recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-living iron lung patient. Alexander inspired many through his resilience and use of social media to spread messages of hope.
